Netcare
7 Day Notice - Threatening Legal Action No Account

Health & Medicine

At the end of January 2013 I was in hospital for an operation. As usual, there is a small shortfall in the payment from the Medical Aid, in which case, I really do not mind paying the amount. On the 30th May 2013, I received a 7 Day Notice, threatening me with Legal Action, should I not pay within 7 days. This letter was dated 21st April 2013. As we all now we have our Annual Event from Postal workers with their strike. So I could not understand why I didnt receive any accounts before this, as I did supply my e-mail address, cellphone number as well as my house telephone number. So I phoned Merle. She could not access my account, and I asked her to please give me proof of where accounts were forwarded to me, she said she would phone me back. As I was in a area with no cellphone reception, she left the following message: Hi Mrs van Schalkwyk, I managed to see what amount wasn't paid by your Medical Aid, please contact me for the amount... Huh?? Was this the question?? I come from a Corporate Environment as Snr Credit Controller, and the usual Credit Control measures are to mail, then e-mail (specially in RSA) and do a follow up phone call BEFORE you send 7 day letter!!
