INSUFFICIENT ASSISTANCE ON URGENT SURGERY

My partner has been suffering with a serious back condition for nearly a year now, she was admitted to hospital in February for care and was under the care of Dr JJ Labaschagne, this doctor informed my partner her back condition was due to her size of her front chest, and would benefit from a reduction.

The Neurosurgeon supplied us with a motivation letter regarding this.

We saw a plastic surgeon who in turn also confirmed that she desperately needed a reduction and this would immediately rectify her back issues, a motivation letter was provided for this as well.

We have provided photo's, motivation letters, BMI stats, just short of suppliying a DNA sample!

We keep getting letters stating you do not ave sufficient proof to allow the surgery, you don't have photo's and her BMI, even through we have sent this information twice already!!!

I find it very incompetent, considering this is not cosmetic surgery this is a genuine medical issue, that two specialists including a neurosurgeon have advised needs to happen.

We pay ZAR5k a month and this is how we get treated, whats the point of paying so much when you have proof of the requirement, the medical aid could not care less!!
