Going South?

Electronics and household app.

I used to be an avid Nikon supporter when I owned my D90 and D300, but since I purchased a D7000 it all started going south. I'm onto my 3rd unit because of constant issues. 1st unit = unreliable metering, unreliable auto focus and oil on sensor. 2nd unit = same as 1st except metering was more reliable. My 3rd & current unit still has auto focus issues and has been prone to back focus as well. The sensor now thankfully doesn't have oil on, but still gathers dust (unlike the D90 and D300 I owned). The reason I bought the D7000 was to upgrade and it carries a 5 year warranty, but I'm also concerned because I've read a few times where owners said Nikon claimed impact or fluid damage when the camera was well looked after. Is that how they get past the having to honor the 5 year warranty? What is happening @ Nikon with quality control? And every time my cameras go in it's fuel costs & I sit without a unit I PAID FOR!!! I'm getting to the stage now where I think it better to just get a refund as the current unit is just 4 months old and thus within the 6 month period governed by the consumer protection act.
