Verbal quote bankrupts me

Erik from Air gave me a verbal quote while I was with my friend who had an aircon installed for R1200.00 and he said it would be the same for me. So his guys arrived and did the work... and I now get an invoice for R3500.00 I am so disappointed. It was a favor and I expected that same treatment but no, sends me this invoice which is bankrupting me from money I didn't budget for.

My air- guy here says I got ripped off!
