AEG Quality not what it used to be

I purchased an AEG washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher as I believed that the high price was warranted given the quality of the product - after all - it is made in Germany!
A few days ago the dishwasher failed to switch off - I called AEG and enquired as to how I could get all three appliances serviced by AEG as I wanted to ensure that good equipment was serviced by the best. I was advised that AEG did not attend to repairs / service directly and was referred to the authorised appointed agent.
The agent's technician arrived, opened up the tumble dryer and was happy to close it up again - I asked that I first clear out the dust inside. After very lttle effort I have now been advised that the two parts required for two of the appliances are no longer available. So much for the longevity of an AEG appliance!
And to top it all - I was asked to please pay immediately as the call-out fee is payable in advance.
A very poor experience with an approved service provider - and a rather unhappy client at being told that an appliance bought to last for decades is now obsolete.
My opinion of AEG has changed - not an appliance I will be recommending to anybody!
