B-tech Information Technologies
Daylight on Samsung Printe

Electronics and household app.

We purhased a Samsung CLX -8385 ND & fax module printer. Serial nr: Z2XAB1CB300051. We bought this unit from a company, B-tech information technologies. The printer was installed on the 8th of February 2013. I only started working at the company in the beginning of March, so there was already a maintenance contract signed with them to maintain the machine. I found out at Samsung this unit sells for about R15000-20000. We were charged R45594.30 for this unit!!! This is against the consumer protection act, which says: "A supplier may not offer to supply, enter into an agreement to supply goods or services or market any goods or services on terms or at prices that are unfair, unreasonable or unjust. " We have a maintenance contract with them, which says the agreement is for 60 months, and we must give 90 days notice which is also against the act. We are charged for a fuser unit and black drum, but the machine is under warranty? Its only 8 months old! This is shocking service. We want to sell this machine, and we do not want to be forced to be in a maintenance contract with a company who is trying to make as much money off us as possible. Machine has broken down about 20 times.
