2 years ago my husband was talked into using Automate Gate Repair Services when they came to repair our old gate motor, They promised us a new improved gate motor that would work better, Since installing the 'new' motor we have had to call them out on numerous occasions to repair the new motor. In the 20 months we have had the new motor it has cost us more than our old motor did in 10 years.

The first time we called them out, the motor was still under warranty, but because it had been 'struck by lightning' the warranty did not cover this. Recently we have had to call them out again, because each time it rains the motor opens and closes the gate. As we had a near break in recently i am not happy with this as some mornings we would wake to find the gate wide open.

Again we were told it had been 'struck by lightning' - our gate must be pretty unlucky - and it had water damage from the rain. After paying in the region of R12000 to R15000 you would think that the motor would be protected by this.
