Apple service is bad

I got an Iphone 4s on contract through Cell c in April. In September the phone just froze and i took it back to cell c northgate where i bought it. After 4 Weeks cell c northgate phoned me saying that they could not fix my phone so they are replacing it with a brandnew iphone. when i went there to collect my phone i was surprised to see that they were giving me a refurbished iphone 4. What kind of service is that. i really need justice to this. i cant be paying for a refurbished iphone 4 when i bought a brandnew iphone 4s.
