Misleading service

I took my 32" LG plasma tv in this 'company' to see if it was repairable. The unit was booked in and i was asked whether I would like a quote first, to which I replied yes. At no time was I told there is a 'handling charge', and neither is this advertised anywhere inside or outside the office. I was given the quote 24-hrs later, but I decided that the amount of R1288 was not worth the repair, so I offered that they buy the tv from me. It was only then that I was told that they would 'negate' the 'handling charge' - so for a R300 handling charge they get a tv.

This, in my opinion, is bad business practice and poor ethics. Is this how they operate... knowing that a high enough quote to repair will inevitably chase the client away, also knowing they will not want to cough up the misrepresented R300 'handling charge'??

Shame on you - people and businesses like you and yours are the exact reason why there is so little trust out there. I hope the tv you essentially conned me out of makes you lots of money. The wheel turns and that money will come back to burn you.
