Salton machines have dangerous electrical fault

Received a popcorn machine for my birthday in Dec. In Feb, noticed it wasn't working well at all (hardly popping any kernals) so contacted Salton to enquire. Said I didn't have proof of purchase as was gift, but they said I could return it to be fixed (no replacement offered).

Wasting my own time, I returned the machine to the shop where it was bought... only to wait a month without hearing anything. APPARENTLY they couldn't fix it, and were going to replace it, they finally told me. They then said I could collect it - so I went to get it, only to realise they'd to me (presumably to get me off their case) and it hadn't in fact been delivered at all. I threw my toys and got it delivered to my house. I have just tested this 'new' machine, and it EXPLODED in my kitchen!!! Not only have they clearly not given me a new machine (but probably just switched it with another machine that was returned, I'm guessing), but they have actually put us and our home at risk with an electrically dangerous and faulty unit.

I will never, EVER buy Salton again, and I will encourage others not to either.
