Billing me for something that never happened

I registered with intec for a 6 month course and paid a deposit about 3 years ago if not longer. I setup a debit order with them as well. I received a starter booklet but no study material. Numerous calls were logged until I got fed up and told them to cancel it. My debit order was cancelled and that is the last I heard of them. 3 years later I was contacted by ncra to say my account is handed over. I explained my story so they told me to contact Intec. How can I pay for something I never did. They told me to first pay then they would send me the study material. I told them I am not interested anymore as this was 3 years ago so they told me to send a cancellation email. I sent a cancellation email on 25 November 2012 and again with no response or feed back! I don't know what to do anymore as I am not prepared to pay for a course that never happened. I am so tired of this on going problem!
