I applied for a BCom, and have been trying to obtain an answer from Unisa as to whether my application was successful or not. Firstly, I had to phone about 8 times before someone actually answered the phone. No feedback given for over a week. One consultant says that I my application never got through; the other says my certified copies are not certified correctly; another says that there is a huge back log and as a result many applications weren't processed yet. An escalation was logged. Another consultant phones with feedback (over a week later) to say application was unsuccessful because my marks were not high enough. After checking on the website, I do not see where my marks are incorrect. I find this disgusting! This is supposed to be education! Not pick and choose eeny meeny miney moe! These are peoples' futures that are just being played with! If your application is declined you have to wait until the next semester to apply! Against which criteria are these people deciding about applications? I am appalled! I thought Unisa would at least try and better their reputation after the Carte Blanche show! Unisa is contradicting the focus on empowering us for the future!
