National Geographic
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC KIDS MAG ENGLISH VS AFRIKAANS

Education & Science

Good Morning, I write to you this morning with regards to something that my child brought to my attention. I have been to woollies this morning and like every weekend I buy mags for my kids to encourage reading. My daughter accidentally picked up the Afrikaans volume 112 of KIDS mag. My daughter gets excited when mags have freebies. she brought to my attention that the afrikaans version had an extra booklet in it, puzzles photo, games, I could not determine as the mags are sealed with a plastic jacket. I however investigated and determined that all the English versions was missing the supplement of gift, whatever. I compared the price and both the Afrikaans versions and English was priced @ R28.00. I to her and told her that Afrikaans takes up more words than English thus thicker and carried on. I would just like to know why is it that this is so?
