Irene Primary School
Mislead marketers to fund school pockets

Irene Primary recently hosted a fundraiser where they invited crafters to sell at there event. Besides the fact that they asked R250 per day, where the accepted day rate for crafters is R150, they mislead the crafters by indicating that they advertised the event vigorously. However this was not the case. There were no posters or even banners out side the school indicating the carnival event anywhere close to the school and surrounding area. And the school is situated right next to a main road which commutes hundreds of vehicles daily. Myself and most of the crafters left before 12.00 on the second day due to the fact that there were so little people attending the event.
What disappoints me even further is that when we complained to one of the organisers and raised our concerns she indicated that this was the first time that they were hosting this event, but when I consulted with one of the parents they informed me that that this was an annual event happening every year.!
I requested for refund as I am unemployed and cannot afford to loose R500. Now they want to offer me a free stall at the Xmas market. They from stallers who try to make ends meat. Disgrace
