I signed up for Makeup Artistry, have spent nearly a year studying all the preliminary subjects. Finally was sent the makeup artistry subject only to find it was an introduction to makeup and will in no way equip me to become a makeup artist. I was told the makeup course had 16 modules, but a module is only 1 page with 1 paragraph of text and a black & white image that is of no use whatsoever. The course cost me nearly R9, 000 and the college will not do anything to compensate.

I am devastated by the amount of time and effort I have put in and now I have to write to the FET ombudsman and start an inquiry.

At no time was I told that the "diploma" is not FET approved. At no time was I told this was just a "primer" course and would not qualify me for anything. Would I have done it to get no qualification?

Utterly false advertising!
