Beware of Giving Cash For Jobs to Chartel

Beware of Charlie the owner of Chartel, a building company in Oribi Street, Jeffreys Bay. Last March I paid R5000 cash deposit to Charlie to do some work at my house which was due to start a few days later. The total price was R22, 000. I waited for him to come but in vain! I have seen him around town several times since and he was also in attendance at the burnt houses in St. Francis. I asked him when he would come to do the work as promised, to be told again "Monday". Which Monday I wonder as almost one year later I am still waiting. I have asked him on a few occasions also to return my deposit if he was too busy to do the work. There was no reply to these requests. Please be careful if you intend to employ this man and his company for work as I do understand that I am not the only person in Jeffreys Bay who has fallen victim to his business practices. Forewarned is forearmed so they say!
