POLY AQUA BLINDS REFUSE TO REPAIR FACTORY FAULT

Construction & Repair

We purchased a full set of very expensive PVC Patio Blinds in July 2009. At the time of purchase we were convinced by the salesperson that these were the best blinds on the market--far superior to canvas, and that the velcro fastening system was imported from Italy, and was far superior to zips. The blinds carried a 4 year warranty. The blinds were delivered and fitted, but were not manufactured to the correct size. We let it slide. Some time later the company did fit additional supports in an effort to overcome the original sizing error. The problem now is that the stitching that holds the velcro in place has degenerated. The supplier admits telephonically that the thread used for the stitching was inferior and that they have changed the thread to better quality.
The supplier now wants me to pay for them to correct their original quality problem, even though the blinds are still within the warranty period.
The supplier says that it's not worth his while to correct his mistakes, and will only fix the items if I pay the costs to remove and replace the blinds.
Why must i pay to fix their poor quality and why must they profit from their mistake?
