Carpet Fitter damaged cupboard and furniture

The carpet installation team of JohnDore Glengarry has caused damage to 2 built in cupboards and a cabinet that they have moved to install new carpets. When I informed the company about this, they first responded that they are not responsible for any damage and magically produced a contract addendum that was never provided before the damage or discussed at the time they were contracted.
Then they suggested to put strips over the damage!
I will not recommend them to anyone.
I do believe that companies should have pride in their work and take responsibilty when they mess up.
