Bad workmanship Warranty?

Construction & Repair

November 2015 we were invoiced for a Cooling unit that was installed in stages, the first part was complete and we had to pay the full amount, we paid for the installation of the main unit but the ducting still had to be done. This was only done and completed in March 2015 (This year).
Because of bad workmanship with regards to the welding of the Aluminium pipes the unit never performed as it should,
Less than a year later we logged the complaint with Cold Control for no less than 7 leaks on the system. Their response was to quote us on the replacing of the aluminium with copper piping at our own cost to the value of R 61 976, 65. (full payment required upfront).
We then realized they have no intention of correcting the bad installation so we got a second opinion from a trusted local service supplier. He confirmed that it was bad welding and workmanship that caused the problem, we then contacted Dunham-Bush and they confirmed that the use of aluminium is not the norm in the industry and that it requires a skilled technician to do such installations. The Local supplier is doing the same job but better for less than half the price - R 25946.40
