DON'T TRUST STONE CONSTRUCTION OR LLEWELYN LIPKE

Llewellyn Lipke gave me an unbelievable quote to do some building on my newly purchased house. He was extremely friendly and appeared knowledgeable. I paid him up front for the plans & engineers (R10000 & R5700 respectively). He paid the plans lady 1/2 her fee (which turned out to be R8000 and NOT R10000). At this point I had heard some bad reports about him and thought I'd play it safe and pay these people myself. He went ahead and paid the balance owing to the plans lady (even though I hadn't even seen the plans) and I've been begging and pleading for the past 2 weeks for the R7700 he still owes me. He's not answering his phone and I'm giving up hope of EVER seeing my money. Unfortunately I am at the end of the queue of unhappy clients who have apparently lost a lot more than I have! If I can't find a builder to come in at the same price as his quote, I'm afraid I will have lost a lot more money as I will need to change my plans! I am extremely disappointed that I have been "caught" and I hope I'm the last!!
