After much deliberation I have decided to write a complaint about Jeff van de Walt and his two companies - Budget Bathrooms and Econo Kitchens.

I had requested a Bathroom renovation from the owner (Jeff) - whom seemed like a reputable service provider. The reality was something quite shocking.

He was never on site to supervise his workers. His workers installed a top of the range wall-hung Geberit toilet 15cm higher than the standard installation regulation. His workers used a piece of Rhino Board in between the cement and bricks of a wall extension and also cemented bricks against a window (which Jeff told me to break down myself if I was not happy with it.)

Jeff refused to correct any of these mistakes without his first payment and became violent over the phone. I contacted the family lawyer which quickly made him back off and I ordered him to remove his staff and equipment from the premises.

luckily I had not yet made any payments to Jeff, but there were additional costs I had to incur to have the toilet reinstalled and the wall rebuilt. This was gross neglect on Jeff's part and various building regulations were broken.

This is a warning - don't use these two companies!
