Employees who IGNORE customers!!!

I went to the boards department looking for a sheet of shutterply. The place was a shambles, the isles blocked with stock dumped at 45 degrees and cardboard and plastic littering the place. Three staff members were engaged in a personal (obviously not work related) conversation and went out of their way to avoid eye contact. I manhandled a sheet of shutterply off the stack but it was full of boot prints. I am 51 not 21 but am not weak yet. Still I was ignored. I then carried the board to the centre of the main isle... still ignored... where I left it, and walked (stormed!) out the door to Penny Pinchers, a block away, where I was met by two smiling faces willing and pro-actively eager to assist me. In conversation with the yard guys at PP it was clear I was not the first refugee from Builders that day. Well done guys, I know where I will go first next time, your opposition!!! Your staff, and obviously so does your first tier management. Be grateful I am not your competitor, I'd have you out of business in 6 months.
