Failure to deliver Sony Camcorder after repairs

I gave a sony camcorder worth R4000 for repair with a R500 advance on 16/8/2013. gul told me to collect the camcorder on 29/8/2013. on arriving i was told that the shop had been burgled and my camera was gone. the shop does not display any disclaimer. the burglary did not display much signs of forced entry. gul gave me a case no from the police station CAS569/8/2013. when i went to report at the police station i was told that the case had been lodged in the name of another person not mr. gul. if you could please get mr. gul to reimburse me my loss of R4500. I have the Makro receipt proving my purchase of the camcorder. Please do not give Mr. Gul my email address or other details except my name and mobile number as i dont feel he is trustable
