Europcar
BILLED FOR DAMAGE NOT CAUSED BY ME

I took my car for repairs at the beginning of March and rented a car from Europcar. They made me sign a form holding R500 for petrol. Two days later R750 was deducted from my credit card. When I spoke to Vicky about this, she said it was an error and the amounts would be reversed when I returned the car with a full tank of petrol, which she did.
Today I receive notification, on my cell phone, that an amount of nearly R1 500 has been charged to my credit card from Europcar. When I phoned Vicky to find out the reason for this, I am told it is for the scratch on the bumper which was done by me. I told Vicky when the car was delivered to me I checked the car and pointed out marks on the car and a chipped windscreen, which they never noticed.
When they came to collect the car, the first thing one of the guys did was to go to the bumper, right underneath the car, by lying on his stomach, and he pointed out a scratch on the bumper. I said what made you go directly to that spot, on the bumper, right underneath the car which cannot be seen unless you know where to look for it.
This seems to be a trick of Europcar. I noticed the same complaint on 5 April. Maybe he rented the car I had
