When I purchased my new vehicle from McCarthy Peugeot Umhlanga, they were quick to get me to sign all the documents & make the sale but their after care is apalling! I was never advised on a deposit protector instead they offered me life ins. etc I have a club McCarthy "Platinum" membership, paying for this but it's never been utilised. After my accident occured I called the helpdesk to request for emergency assistance - transport from the hospital to home & was told that they do not provide this yet it clearly states they do on the reverse of my membership card. Then they still have the nerve to send me an sms stating that they have "renewed my membership". Who the gives them the authority to renew this without my consent? This is not my 1st bad experience with McCarthy. On the 7th month of purchasing my new vehicle, I had a mechanical breakdown & McCarthy Peugeot Umhl gave me pathetic service. I had to beg for a courtesy car & then receive a somewhat shaky citroen c1 which was filthy on the interior with blood embedded plasters lying in one of the cubby holders. Is this how the McCarthy group treat their clients? Now how am I to cough up another R20000 for a new car deposit?
