The OBC of my new A5 displayed two gearbox malfunctions. The dealership swapped out the gearbox control unit for a new one. After the new gearbox control unit was fitted, I subsequently had a gearbox failure display on the OBC. Audi SA reviewed the matter with their parent company, Audi Germany and confirmed that they were reviewing the matter in terms of a repair solution. Then I had another gearbox malfunction display on the OBC. Audi SA's response to this was that they were waiting for the release of a TPI applicable to the South Africa market. I subsequently asked Audi SA what the timing was on the software release in SA, whether the software update was guaranteed to resolve the gearbox concerns, and why new vehicles (more importantly gearboxes) were being shipped without the updated software. I have had no response from Audi SA. I have left a message for the Audi SA Customer Interaction Specialist, but my call has not been returned. Obviously spending R580, 000.00 on what I thought was a premium brand, is not enough money to warrant any action from Audi SA. Choose your brand carefully and know that Audi SA will follow protocol before they show you any courtesy or support.
