BMW South Africa
Ruined the experience of buying a new ca

Cars & Transport

I drove a BMW 135i, liked it, but mentioned there was a whining noise when it was running, like a fan belt. I was assured that the car had just arrived and therefore hadn't been checked over and that the problem would be fixed. I was only in Jo'burg for a few days, and decided to buy the car and get it sent by truck to Cape Town, where I live.

The deal went through and I was told that the car would be sent down, on them, in 3 days. After 3 days I was told that the car would only be sent down in 2 weeks, even though the promise had been made.

When I did get the car, there was no spare key, a lock nut was missing AND I had been charged for the freight which was NOT what we agreed on. I asked and was told, they had forgotten to send those items, but would courier it to me. After a week, the whining started again. 3 days later, the belt SNAPPED. The car was towed, and I had no car for a week. After numerous calls from me, I found out NO work had been done on the car whatsoever and was told "Well it's done now, what do you want us to do about it? "

Customer care says "The matter was dealt with internally". It still doesn't change a thing FOR THE CUSTOMER! BMW is ruined for me.
