Suzuki Auto South Africa
Service plan - farce or fact?

Cars & Transport

I have a Suzuki Alto which I bought with its service plan still applicable. This car has done very few kms with the result that after two years and 16000km it had to go for its '30000' service.

I complained about the musty smell in the aircon and rough idling due to idling at too low revs (amongst others). Great was my surprise when I was told that the pollen filter - the culprit on the musty smell - had to be replaced, but at my cost. Apparently it can only be replaced under the service plan at 45000km. Regarding the idling it was said 'no fault codes found'.

Ridiculous. The plan provides a pollen filter, but not when I need it. At the next service the filter (which I now paid for) will be replaced whether I need it or not.

The idling was not corrected. Apparently the 'technician' does not know how to adjust idling on a car.

And the musty smell is still present most times.

Dealing with (a) the service manager I got no joy and (b) head office I got - eventually - the same garbage of the agent repeated to me. No joy. No response. No client service.

So what is the purpose of the service plan when it does not attend to my complaints WHEN I ENCOUNTER THEM?
