Daihatsu SA
A VEHICLE SOLD AS 2008 MODEL, BUT ACTUALLY 2007

Cars & Transport

I bought a Daihatsu Sirion from Midrand Multifranchise in 2008.In my contract it states that it is a 2008 model. I have traded in the Sirion now. A few days after the Sirion has been sold to another buyer, the dealership where I traded in the Sirion, came back to me and showed me the registration papers where it states that the Sirion was actually registered in October 2007.Now I am being held responsible for the payment of the difference in the trade price between a 2007 and a 2008 model. My husband took this case up with the Dealer Principal - Christo Roberts - at Midrand Multifranchise on the 19th of February. He said that he is going to get the file and phone back. My husband has been phoning and leaving messages on 7 other occasions and Christo just doesn't return any phone calls and is never available when trying to talk to him. What we need to know is who is going to refund us this payment of R12 000 that we are liable for now? Who is going to refund us for the excess that was paid on insurance and financing? Christo did eventually phone back just now and said that it was handed over to the attorneys. Hopefully we will have an answer by next year this time!!!
