WARNING/ ALERT!!! Peugeot 407 no good in SA

While the car was still under warranty, a "De-pollution Error' warning was displayed on the console. This was ostensibly 'fixed', but the car went back three times for the same problem. The fault cleared for a couple of months only to return again, but now the car was out of warranty and the cost was for me. I have just paid about R15 000 for a service and replacement of the de-pollution module only to have the same 'De-pollution Error' warning again being displayed on the console. My choices are now to have the cylinder head removed and chemically cleaned. There is no guarantee from Peugeot that this will clear the problem, but I should just keep on paying while they figure out what the actual problem is. So, in effect I'm paying for guess-work with no real end in sight. Kind of like the big bank bailouts... Anyway, the problem appears to be something to do with the fuel quality in SA causing carbon build-up in various parts of the engine and the sensors picking it up. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a Peugeot in SA.
