I bought a 2011 Hilux 4x4 to be used for an Africa 20 000 km trip. The sales manager said the vehicle had belonged to their parts department and "had been used to deliver parts like light bulbs" his exact words. I have since discovered that it was used to show potential buyers just what a 4x4 can do on a 4x4 track!
The other problem is that it has not been serviced and has missed 5 scheduled services. This info was not available when I bought the vehicle and the service book was sent to me a few days after I asked for it. The vehicle has a gearbox problem and Yoyota will probably cancel the warantee because of the poor service history (This from a Toyota dealer!!)
I have contacted McCarthy a few times and been given various email addresses and phone numbers which I have phoned unsuccessfuly {engaged even after hours) and had no reply to my emails.
I have incurred expenses and wasted time purchasing this vehicle and getting it back to George where I live and my time before I plan to leave on the Africa trip is aproaching fast. I need this sorted out asap!!!
McCarthy don't seem to be interested in my problem!
