Money racket - to send goods overseas

My daughter flew to Amsterdam and had an extra suitcase. Instead of paying for overweight it was 'cheaper' to send it unaccompanied luggage. We were referred to ITTA by KLM. We drove there to give the suitcase in and had to pay over R3000. She was told that because it is personal used stuff, she would not have to pay import duties. She would then be able to go and fetch it in Amsterdam. Surprise!... she gets an e-mail setting out a whole lot of costs involved amounting to 130 Euro's. This was not conveyed by ITTA. Only when a complaint was lodged, she was told that there are other options.By this time it was too late and she had to pay. This is unacceptable. This is almost half of what she is earning!!! And what does ITTA say? We are sorry.
