Avis car-less and lying to discovery insure

Through my insurance Discovery a rental car was organised with Avis on Friday 2014.01.10 for this morning, Monday 13. As the promise that Avis would contact me on Friday was not met, I called discovery this morning and given the run around resulting in seven more phone calls and no answer as to what was happening with the rental.
Finally I missed a call (obviously) from avis and followed the sms sent to contact the Avis agent, Bernice.
Bernice politely informed me that no cars had been available and they knew this since Friday, implying that they had notified Discovery (Who later disputed this). Bernice obviously a mere call centre agent took no accountability or any attempt to resolve this just saying that she would send a email to try and get me a car but no guarantee it will be today.
I still await the promised assistance with discover to sort this out.

I would like to point out the general lack of service from the agents of both companies, all who and make promises they do not keep, and am shocked that there is no agents in either company who police such action, obviously neither company really take customer service into consideration when evaluating their staff.
