Mccarthy
, broken promises and bad service

Cars & Transport

A full service with certain repairs is not an unreasonable condition of sale. The car was in their workshop on four occasions in six weeks. Client was never given updates or communicated to regarding the repairs. Although a checklist (stating repairs done) accompanied the car, upon inspection not only was car not serviced but no repairs were done as discussed and the quality of workmanship was shocking! e.g. wheel bolts missing, perished CV boots, interior door panel repaired with super glue, sloppy electrical wiring, domestic hose clamp used to secure left headlight globe, engine miss-fire when idling.
When client asked about idling problem the salesman (Danny) told the client he "had a rat problem as the spark plug wired were eaten by rats" when in fact the original wires were still connected?!
While the car was in the workshop it accumulated 1740 kilometers in the first two weeks!?
The reasonable request for a full refund was met with lost paper-work, avoidance and broken promises. At the end the work-shop manager (Neil) 'stepped up to the plate' to bring this situation to a close when NO Principal Dealer, Sales Manager, or Branch Manager was available.
