Poor batteries

I purchases an Exide battery at a shop at Silverton, within a year, the battery became faulty, it was heating up. Returned it to Exide batteries at Pretoria West and they refused to change the battery for me saying that the battery was produced more than a year ago, however I purchased it much later on the year of production. They said that it is my car that made the battery to be that way, that it was my alternator that was overcharging the battery. I went to 2 different auto-electrician to check my alternator and it was working fine, not over charging. I will never recommend anyone to buy Exide batteries, neither will I for the rest of my life.
The supplier do not keep to their guarantees.
