Delivery that should take 2 days at most takes 5

I am out of the country so i am trying to buy everyone Christmas gifts via the internet and delivery back home. As this is the only way as i am only back after Christmas. I bought stuff form a local shop in joburg and they organised delivery aka "ARAMEX" to get it where i need it. The stuff was picked up the very next day from the shop and its been 5 days and still no delivery . i tracked my parcel on there website and i can see that it has been scanned out for delivery every morning and its just back 18:00 pm in Sandton head office. so why are they scanning it if it just stays in there transport van and doesn't get delivered???
