Using accident as an excuse

Cars & Transport

Very unhappy regarding BMW Motorplan following incident when I was stood still at a red traffic light and a vehicle ran into the back of mine. This however not my complaint, as it is a substantial amount of money which I do not have and considering the fact that the damage is mostly cosmetic and did no damage whatsoever to my engine I kept on driving my vehicle as it was still in driving condition and I do require my vehicle for work as this is my busiest period of the year. Couple of weeks later however I started my vehicle, realised something was wrong as it made a funny sound so had it towed in to BMW. I was informed that my climate compressor had to be replaced along with minor work to be done. Not a problem however, I was then told that the work done amounts to R17 000 and more importantly, that I will have to pay for it myself as my MP has been suspended due to the accident. I contacted BMW HQ and was told on four (4) occasions that it is MP rules. Understand why such a rule would be in place, however, not my fault, it is BMW problem and surely logic would suggest that the accident bares no relevance and that MP should still cover the costs. I feel BMW is using the opportunity
