Triton Express
Driver about responsibility of accident

Cars & Transport

On 12 September 2013, a Triton Express vehicle overtook my car on the left hand side on a curved road to get in front of me. He scraped past the front left of my car causing damage to my light, the fender as well as to the bumper. From the scrapes on my car you can see clearly that the vehicle went past very fast. The scrapes start out thick and become very thin. The driver then proceeded to drive off through the Modderfontein intersection in Johannesburg without a thought to my safety or basic decency. I then drove after the vehicle, hooting for him to stop. This he did and then he tells me that I caused the accident. This being a very busy intersection on a Thursday afternoon- I was unable to get any contact details for witnesses. After me contacting the company on the day of the accident and on the Monday after, as well as filing a police accident report, I later contacted the branch manager on the company email asking for insurance details. A month later a letter arrives in the mail to accuse me of negligent driving as well as providing me with a bill of more than R2000! what disgusting people we have in the world!
