Car came back damaged from service

I sent a car to peugeot in centurion for service, they gave me a quote of R3620, I asked if the lights & brake lights were fixed, she confirmed with the technician then said yes they are fixed and the price include some alternator bulb or something. She called and said that they realised that the lights now have a shot, so they need to replace the brake light switch which will move my bill to R4220. when i got to pay the amout was 4620, 5 min after picking up the car it overheated i took it back and now they clain its not thier fault i have to pay 3500 but later gaave a deposite to 2100. but why must i pay bcoz the car was fine when i left it there, all i needed was service
