New transponder needed and now car won't start

Cars & Transport

I lost the transponder in my key. Order a new one and took my car in to the dealer to have the key sorted. Days later I call to find out what's taking so long and I am informed that they cannot get the car to start. All they had to do was put in a new transponder and code the key. Days later I'm told the computer box was sent for testing and no fault found. I'm told they need to get the diagrams to check the wiring. In the mean time the same person takes the box back for testing - no idea why this time it comes back with 3 faults. I'm told we need to order a new box but there's no guarantee that it will fix the problem. On querying this and putting the pressure on because there was no mechanical fault when the car was sent in, I was told that they will recheck. The manager himself gets involved and from the 18 September up to today the 10 October they cannot figure out the problem. If the recommended dealer cannot repair the car, who can? And how is it possible that suddenly a car refuses to start and the people who are supposed to be able to fix, be clueless as to what could be wrong. They are obviously taking advantage of a helpless customer and something is fishy.
