Need a boost

After forking out 4k extra for your auto plus plan, a service I didn't think I would actually need, I was really annoyed that I had to call for breakdown assistance 4 days after purchasing a vehicle from you guys, the thing refused to start. A technician from the AA came out and advised that the cause is a faulty alternator.

Was there any integrity check done on the electrical components of the car done before I bought it? At the moment the car is being towed away to the dealership for evaluation on the part.
