Failure to Supply Infant safety Seat

More than one month ago we booked and reserved a sedan motor vehicle for hire in Kimberley and specified that an infant safety seat was to be supplied. We were quoted a price for the vehicle and the additional cost of the car seat.

We accepted the quotation and the payment due was deducted from my credit card. We arrived at Kimberley airport tonight to find that the infant car seat had not been reserved and was not available. Avis offered to bring one to us tomorrow from Johannesburg. The only problem is we need to drive approximately 160 km tonight and they want us to do it with a nine month old baby unrestrained. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a reckless disregard for the safety of Avis' customers.

I challenge Avis to reply on this public forum.
