Third Party Claim

I had an accident on 24 June 2013 with an Avis car that I m currently leasing. I have since paid over R15 000 over to Avis for the accident, but I have not heard anything from Avis on whether you we're able to claim back the money from the guy who hit the car with his truck. I have tried to call Avis but each time I am being sent from pillar to post. Can Avis please tell me what is going on?
