Europcar
Omitting important information about refuelling

Cars & Transport

I rented a vehicle from Europecar through [URL Removed] On the confirmation papers I received (from Kulula) certain instructions are presented such as to bring ID, deposit amount, windscreen and tyre waivers etc. What is not explicitly highlighted in the statement (or when dealing with Europecar staff) is that the vehicle must be returned with a full tank of petrol. Why not? If it is important enough to bill me for, why don't you tell me so clearly? Why must I study some lawyer's while I'm on holiday for something you could tell me straight up? If I had known to fill the tank up I would have done so with my petrol card, which I had on my person during the trip, now I must dig through my finances to allow for an expense of a few hundred Rand which I could have avoided had you told me so. I don't see this as good customer service at all and I don't appreciate finding out afterwards that something I thought would cost R600 actually costs R1050.
