I took my Suzuki Swift in for the 90 000km service on Tues 27/08. When I collected the vehicle (for which I had to wait 45 minutes as usual) I asked what they had done during the service. When I enquired if the cam belt had been changed the lady behind the counter informed me that they contacted Bidvest who hold my maintenance plan and they said they do not cover any belts (I also requested that the alternator belt be checked). I told her this was impossible and she was adament about it. When I left I called Bidvest and according to them they were only asked to approve a fan belt which they were told was not damaged nor was it part of the service so naturally they declined it. I spoke to the service manager on the 22/08 and he informed me that the car did not have a cam belt but could not tell me why a new fan belt was requested if there was no problem with it or it was not required during the service. He promised to come back to me within an hour. No call rest of Thursday, no call Friday (in spite of me calling again). There is actually not enough space here to continue this but once again I am waiting. I love the car but will never buy another Suzuki.
