Misled/misinformed at point of sale

I bought an Audi A3 last year and took delivery on the 19th Nov 2012. The consultant promised to have the car registered under 2013. When I took delivery of the vehicle the car was already registered as a 2012 model; and sighted the reason that it was management's requirement. Thereafter I noticed a lot of people driving around with the same car using temporary registrations.
Im now faced with the following issues:
Depreciation being calculated as at 2012 as opposed to 2013
I'm expected to take out additional insurance for the shortfall as the market value is deemed lower than the oustanding debt.
Why should I incur additional insurance expenses as I was misled by the consultant.
I expect Audi to meet me halfway in this regard.
