Brother's Executive Auto
Hiding car problems

Cars & Transport

I bought a Land Rover Freelander HSE Td4 2005 model from Brother's Executive Auto in December 2010, with a year's warranty, which specified it had to be services by Land Rover, which I duly did. Not that it helped. On my first trip on TAR road to Mossel Bay and back, the car failed completely on my way home. Ditto the second trip, even though Land Rover claimed the car was in good nick, After the warranty expired, I had the car fixed by a reputable mechanic, who found a wealth of problems, from the turbo, injectors to the suspension (none of these were even spotted by Land Rover). I've been trying t sell the car for 3 months now to recuperate my losses, only to have it break down during a test drive. My mechanic has now opened up the engine and what we found was astonishing! : two of the four pistons were leaking pressure and oil! ; the gasket was glued! in place; judging by the wear on the engine, the kilometer reading Brother's Exec sold it as is! What a joke is all I can say, and my advice to anyone is to NEVER deal with Brother's Executive Auto because the cars they sell are obviously not in a condition to be driven at all. And Land Rover - well their products!
