Kia Lazarus
Faulty Shocks on Cerato

Cars & Transport

I purchased a Kia Cerato Hatch, the top of the range model, in 2011. since then the shocks have been replaced twice by Kia under the warranty as they have been faulty. The third set is now failing on the vehicle and although the vehicle is still under warranty and they have inspected and agreed that the shocks are faulty, over 2 months have passed and still they have not replaced them or fund the fault. You also cannot put another make of shock on as they invalidate the warranty then. To add, the tyres are getting damaged now and they have mentioned they will not replace them.

I must add that the lady assiting on the claims has been very polite and states that the delays are from Kia in Korea who has to approve the claims. But unfortunately this does not solve the problem. I like the car, and engine is running smooth, so I intend to use the vehicle for many years... but if anyone had to ask me whether I recommend Kia now... I would say absolutely not! and after this vehicle I will not purchase another.
I have a colleague with the sedan version bought in the same year and he has changed his shocks twice under warranty as well.
