Nissan South Africa
Threat about week clutch for Nissan Navara

Cars & Transport

I am owning a Nissan Navara 2.5 DCI 4x4 XE I bought in 2011. Many people are saying Navaras are having a fault with clutch plate which packs up very easily. Some at 24000km some at 50000km and a lot of them between 80000 and 120000.
My frustration is that it said Nissan is turning a blind eye on his problem as if it is a normal thing. Another problem is that the response by Nissan to victims of these R18000.00 to fix Navara clutces. The response is not the same. It depends upon how lucky you are. Some are repaired at te cost of Manufacturer while some at their costs. In my case I felt some judding two times when it had done 85000 but that disappeared very soon. It is 95000 on the clock now. I called Nissan South Africa to ask as about this week clutch problem and I was told that it s not covered under warranty and is taken as a normal wear and tear. I will fix it at my cost of R18000 should it pack. In summary why Nissan are you marketing and selling a car you know it as an abnormally week clutch which needs R18000 to fix without alerting customers and fail to come up with a uniform contingency plan to help the victims.
