Nissan Juke Fuel Consumption is horrible

Cars & Transport

I bought a nissan Juke with the impression it would be a fuel saver as its claimed consumption is 6.9L/100km but upon arguing that this is a my car was passed off to a dealer twice to which no fault was found and no resolution to my problem has yet to be discovered. I am spending more in fuel bill than i was spending on my @2.5 V6 lexus. AT a claimed 6.9, i should be getting at least 500km plus out of a tank that cost me R475 to fill. I have tried and tested every possible driving style but have never got any decent figures out of the car unless i drive under 100km/h throughout the tank. I drive from jhb to wibank and back once a week, i have done this trip at 120km/h on the gps and then at 132km/h with only slight difference in consumption. Computer registers a 9.2 - 10.2 average on a round trip. R400 barely covers this, but yet my Lexus did the trip on R300. Surely a car listed with a 6.9 should be doing better than my lexus. Nissan SA cant seem to justify anythind and all i get is that the test was done at 100km/h in perfect conditions. All good but surely increasing speed by 20km/h should put me in the high 7s to low 8s.

Clearly advertising and very poor response
